This track was fully produced on the Beat Kangz Electronics Beat Thang Virtual software. While my direction with this song was not clear upon starting to put it together, I was surely initially thinking Hip-Hop. However, after I began playing around with those suweeet keys, the track went in a different direction.
I changed the kicks, the bass line, and threw in some space fillers. I’d still love to get a dope lyrical genius on top of this, and throw some singing on the hook.
For showcasing, I dumped a stereo wav into Cubase, put an aural exciter on it, and the iZotope Vinyl effect on the end. It has 4 snares slightly panned away from each other, 2 kicks, 3 tracks of keys played differently, bass line, hi-hat, etc. I used 14 of the 16 tracks on the BTV. Enjoy!
Courvoisier is a sampleless piece created at spur of the moment. It was completely produced on the Roland FantomX6 and started out as a Neo-soul-ish Hip-Hop track… simply by the way the drums and strings were played. However, as I kept hearing prominent solo keys on this one… I switched up the attitude of the song as I played funky piano expressiveness like the bold flavor of Cognac, yet smooth tasty appreciation for the genre of Jazz, as both compliment each other.
A Woman’s Mood is a sample-less piece produced entirely on the Roland FantomX6. With this being my favorite piece, I sat down and began to put it together as if my fingertips already had a plan. I started out with the drums (notice the kick is lazy? – It’s intentional) I dropped in the simple cello bass-line, added the warm piano chords throughout to set the tone, and topped it off with the layered strings to swing the track creating mood. Once I knew I had to put my fingers to work on the improv… I already had a title to this song. The solo keys flowed from my soul like running water… I closed my eyes several times to reach inside me as a woman and deliver a message any woman or man could relate to. I wanted my playing to reflect the way we perform, behave, react, connect, love, build and bare. And from there, A Woman’s Mood was born.
Sweet Orgasm is a semi-sample-less piece with short snips of samples layered in…”Teddy Pendergrass – Close The Door” and “Quincy Jones – Secret Garden”. This piece was produced on the Roland Fantom X6. As I had fun producing this song, I didn’t have a concept or title until well after the song was complete. As the track eventually began to feel like a love song… I played the solo keys reflecting the sweet sensual interaction of lovemaking, while intentionally playing the keys reflecting attitude and purpose, as I played into a pleasurable and calming peak at the end of the track.
