She has opened for Mario, Lyfe Jennings, Monica and continues to perform at major venues every weekend. Although Ms. Kendra dominates as a classic R&B talent, she is also a favorite within the hip-hop scene.
Singer, actress, and songwriter Ms. Kendra Williams is a force to be reckoned with. A native of New Orleans, she has wowed many audiences with her amazing vocal abilities. Listeners have dubbed the pure clarity of her voice as instrument-like.
Kendra began singing in church at the early age of seven where her voice became so well known, she was invited to tour as a background singer with world renowned R&B soul group Frankie Beverly & Maze. Honoring her mother’s wishes she turned down the offer but that didn’t stop her from pursuing her dreams.
Taking the local circuit by storm, Ms. Kendra has become a premiere fixture and the most sought after R&B artist in the New Orleans area. Headlining many venues throughout the city and surrounding areas of her hometown, she has become a local celebrity amongst the general public. She has been approached to perform verses and hooks for many local and regional artists. As a songwriter; she has written the hits “How Would You Like” for local artist B-Streezy, as well as several songs featured on her upcoming debut album “Portrait of a Woman”.

The album features her smash hit single “Missing You” now gaining rotation on radio stations throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.
While musically Kendra dominates, she also acts. She has starred in the stage plays “Did Love Cause Me To Hurt” and “I Know I’ve Been Changed” underwritten by Tyler Perry. Her vocals are comparable to some of the best. Get to know Ms. Kendra. She is well on her way to becoming a legend within the music industry.

This sista is one the music industry had better keep an eye on! ‘Can’t You Hear It’ (my favorite track) brings tight production and lyrical skills of an emcee who knows how to rock a microphone.
“They say I got the makings of a dope emcee, the blood in my veins of a Hip Hop Queen… so I’m striving everyday to achieve my dreams!” This quote from TheSeKondElement’s “1:10 to San Diego” from her debut studio project “R.A.P.: Rhythm And Poetry EP” sums her up well. A journalist, lyricist, poet, and emcee, TheSeKondElement, known to most by KAMMs, has been holding her own in the music and entertainment world since the age of 15 when she first began recording with indie label Youth Movement Records (YMR).
While TheSeKondElement is gearing up to release her debut LP, The Kommencement, her live show is what sets her apart from many other emcees. Incorporating New Orleans Turntablist DJ Tony 5kratchere & New Orleans drum whiz-kid, Jordan Drums, the trio’s show is captivating and attention retaining. Keeping her set fresh and the audience surprised she mixes raw Hip Hop with autobiographical Spoken Word. It’s no secret TheSeKondElement gains fans through each and every one of her performances.
A journalist, lyricist, poet, and emcee, TheSeKondElement, known to most by KAMMs, has been holding her own in the music and entertainment world since the age of 15 when she first began recording with indie label Youth Movement Records (YMR). Before leaving her Bay Area hometown to pursue higher education in New Orleans she was featured on three compilation albums under YMR and garnered success in California under the name KAMILyn. Her first hit to receive radio play in the Bay Area, “Dedication,” was a dedication to her brother who had been gunned down by an Oakland Police Officer when KAMMs was only 10-years old. A collaborative effort between three other artists who all experienced similar tragedies—the loss of relatives or friends to gun violence—resonated loudly within the Bay Area community; a video for the song was shot only days before KAMMs left for college at the age of 17.

To answer this question and in my most sincere opinion – NEVER if they are SPITTING real Hip-Hop. (What’s real Hip-Hop?) That real lyrical ish! That mind blowing – hit rewind a few times to make sure you heard that ish! That head-bobbin’ neck-aching ish. That never-ending on-going authentic never heard anything like that ish!
I’ll buy you if you’re 50 and spitting that realness with a dope azz track to follow! Everyone else… oh well! Count your days!
All this jive about Hip-Hop being dead is crazy. Hip-Hop is as dead as the next emcee makes it be. Do your part! Spit some illness.
I welcome the new FLIP-STOP! But… I also believe (nah I know) that a real lyricist, word-flipper, off the dome lyrical-sayer, and any emcee who whips a track to musical little tiny bits of saw dust is something that will NEVER EVER tire with me. EVER!
I’m having a moment of missing ALL the illness of the pioneers of Hip-Hip! There’s no such thing as ‘retirement’ when it comes to these cats!
