lupe fiasco

JN snfeat1 J. Nolan Studio Noize Featured ArtistJ. Nolan proves why he deserves to be called one of the nicest emcees in the Hip-Hop arena. He is definitely pushing lyrical weight as he delivers the ‘platinum flow’ that any Hip-Hop enthusiast can appreciate. If I had to compare; J. Nolan has a similar flow of Diggy Simmons with a hint of Nas and Lupe Fiasco seeping through.

J.Nolan, born Jamar Nolan is a 22-year-old Hip-Hop artist in Atlanta, GA. He is originally from New Haven, CT and spent a brief part of his childhood in the Bay Area of California. Although currently unsigned, Nolan is becoming one of the south-east region’s premier lyricists on the rise with his penchant for mixing fluid wordplay with metaphors and also showing ability to venture into storytelling concepts while maintaining his signature smooth delivery, no matter the subject. Influences consist of Nas, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Lupe Fiasco, The Roots, and many others.

More To Come

Nolan cites his first rhyme as being written before 4th grade when his older brother encouraged him to try it out. He quit, and picked the pen back up in 7th grade for a brief stint before quitting once again. In his freshman year of High School, and after breaking his leg in an accident while playing basketball, he began writing again. In 2005, Nolan formed a group with his best friend Osiris The Prophet and cousin Yung B Da Producer. The trio was called Manifest. In 2007, they disbanded as solo artists in a crew known as The Manifest Movement. J.Nolan uses this imprint to release his independent mixtapes and free albums.

In May 2009, J.Nolan released his first official mixtape, “Chasing Cool.” It was sponsored by VIMBY.com’s now defunct music blog UponThingz.com. His follow up project, “Resilience” was released in October of 2009. He shot and released a video for his single “Going In” featuring up and coming singer, Zayani Rose. In August 2010, J.Nolan released a free album entitled “Broken Dreams” in conjunction with a team called the Connoisseurs of Culture. This would prove to be his most widely accepted musical offering.

Nolan has recently released the mixtape, “The Loose Files” and followed up with his latest album “Chaos Theory.” As 2011 looks to be a promising year for J.Nolan, fans of the authentic sound of Hip-Hop should be on the lookout for what’s to come.
