As I’m always searching the web for star quality talent to bring to the Studio Noize forefront, I didn’t realize this DJ was right under my nose as we are following each other on Twitter. When seeing one of her tweets in the timeline, I went on to view her profile and clicked the link there to further discover the greatness at her SoundCloud. DJ IKO definitely has the goods to handle her own against any DJ who wants to bring the heat.
DJ IKO has found her home behind the turntables since 1993 playing all types of music. In 2002 DJ IKO bridged into the production, mixing and engineering aspect of music with guidance from her inspiration DJ Funk.
She has also managed a number of artists and DJ’s across the US, as well as shared the stage with numerous well known acts such as 2 Live crew, Vanilla Ice, Africa Bambatta, DJ Skribble and RJD2.
More recently DJ IKO has started working globally and closely with underground, and unsigned artists in getting their music heard on radio shows, TV shows, live showcase events, mp3 blasts and flooding the mixtape scene. DJ IKO is one of the leading DJs behind the “KEEP THE VINYL ALIVE” movement moderating websites such as VINYL & BEAT DIGGERS pushing vinyl on producers for sampling and djs for mixing.
